Independent Agency Status:
At Kerr-Boswell/Tri-Cities our personal lines clients have the advantage of working with an independent agency, which means we are not restricted to only having one company with whom we can place our client's personal insurance. We represent several companies that offer a wide range of products. All of our companies are "A" rated by the A.M. Best Company. This means that all our companies are financially sound, which translates to peace of mind for our clients in the event of a claim. Our principal personal lines carriers are Kemper Auto and Home, Southern Insurance of Virginia and Tennessee, Auto-Owners Insurance Company, State Auto Insurance Company, Harleysville Insurance, Utica National Insurance, Travelers Insurance, and Progressive Insurance Company.
Full Time Customer Service Agents:
Here at Kerr-Boswell/Tri-Cities we have a team of full time Customer Service Agents (CSA's) dedicated wholly to the service of our personal lines clients. Our team can accept payments, process change endorsements, file claims, recommend coverage, and respond to any question our clients have regarding their personal insurance. They are all fully licensed and qualified to service our existing clients and also to solicit and sell all lines of personal insurance.
Inspections of Homes:
All of our property carriers do an inspection of your home within the first sixty days of coverage. This is done to make sure that we have insured your home at the actual replacement cost. The inspections determine the square footage of your home and the general condition of the home. This allows us to make sure that if your home were to be destroyed by fire or any other type of covered loss that you could replace it at today's construction costs. This also identifies any potential liability hazards at your home.
Claims Service:
Our clients enjoy two ways of notifying their insurance carrier of a claim. (1)They may call or come in the office and speak to their agent or our customer service agents. From that point our agent will report the claim to the company on your behalf. (2)They may also use a 24-hour toll free claims reporting line that allows them to speak directly to the company with whom they are insured. All of our personal lines companies have the 24-hour direct claims reporting. Therefore, day or night, at any time, our clients can speak to someone about a claim.
